概要
Substack Assistant (以下「本拡張機能」) はサウス (south0120) によって開発・公開されている Chrome 拡張機能です。本ポリシーは、本拡張機能がどのような情報を取得し、保存し、利用するかを説明します。
取得する情報
本拡張機能は以下の情報のみを取得します:
1. ユーザーが Substack のプロフィールページで明示的に入力するメモ・タグ・履歴情報 – これは利用者本人が記録したい情報であり、サウスや第三者が取得することはありません。 2. ユーザーが Substack の編集画面で明示的に「履歴に追加」「ブックマーク」を押した時の対象記事の URL・タイトル・本文の一部 – 利用者本人が「保存」を選択したコンテンツに限ります。 3. 拡張機能の表示設定 (アクセントカラー、ダークモード、言語選択) – 利用者本人が設定したものです。
本拡張機能は メールアドレス、パスワード、認証情報、個人を特定できる情報を一切取得しません。
情報の保存場所
すべての情報は Chrome ブラウザ内の chrome.storage.sync 領域 に保存されます。
- これは Chrome 自身が提供する標準のストレージ機能で、利用者の Chrome アカウントを通じて利用者自身のデバイス間でのみ同期されます。
- データは利用者の Google アカウントに紐づくものであり、本拡張機能の開発者を含む第三者がアクセスすることはありません。
- 本拡張機能は 外部サーバーや独自のデータベースに情報を送信・保存することはありません。
第三者への提供
本拡張機能は、ユーザーが明示的に有効化した SEO サジェスト機能を使用する場合に限り、ユーザーが選択した AI プロバイダ (以下のいずれか 1 つ) に編集中の記事のタイトルと本文を送信します。これは SEO タイトル・ディスクリプション候補を生成するためのものであり、ユーザーが明示的に「3 案を生成」ボタンを押した時のみ 実行されます。

API キーは利用者ご自身で発行 / 入力していただくもので、chrome.storage.local (Chrome のローカル領域) のみに保存されます。他のデバイスに同期されません。
SEO サジェスト機能を使用しない場合 (API キーを設定しない場合) は、外部への送信は一切発生しません。広告、解析、トラッキングを目的とした送信は一切行いません。
ホスト権限の用途
本拡張機能は以下のホスト権限を要求します:

上記以外のサイトには一切アクセスしません。
アンインストールとデータ削除
本拡張機能をアンインストールすると、chrome.storage.sync に保存されたデータも自動的に削除されます。明示的にバックアップを取りたい場合は、サイドパネル内の設定 → データ → エクスポート機能をご利用ください。
ポリシーの変更
本ポリシーは予告なく変更される場合があります。重要な変更があった場合は、本ページの最終更新日が変更されます。

Overview
Substack Assistant (the “Extension”) is a Chrome extension developed and published by South (@south0120). This policy describes what information the Extension collects, stores, and uses.
Information We Collect
The Extension only collects:
1. Memos, tags, and history that you explicitly enter on Substack profile pages. This is information you choose to record. Neither South nor any third party can access it.
2. URLs, titles, and body excerpts of posts that you explicitly bookmark or add to history by pressing the corresponding button. Only content you have actively saved is captured.
3. Display settings (accent color, dark mode, language preference) that you set yourself.
The Extension never collects email addresses, passwords, authentication tokens, or personally identifiable information.
Where Data Is Stored
All data is stored exclusively in Chrome’s chrome.storage.sync area:
- This is the standard storage facility provided by Chrome itself, syncing only across the devices linked to your Google account.
- The data is tied to your Google account and is not accessible to any third party, including the Extension’s developer.
- The Extension does not transmit or store data on any external server or database.
Third-Party Sharing
When (and only when) the user has provided an API key in Settings AND has explicitly clicked the SEO Suggest button, the Extension sends the editor’s article title and body text to the AI provider the user has selected (one of the three below), in order to generate SEO title and description suggestions.

API keys are issued and entered by the user themselves and are stored only in chrome.storage.local (Chrome’s local-only storage area). They are not synced to any other device.
If the SEO Suggest feature is not used (i.e. no API key is configured), no external transmission of any kind takes place. The Extension does not transmit data to any analytics, advertising, or tracking service.
Use of Host Permissions
The Extension requests the following host permissions:
https://substack.com/*https://*.substack.com/*- Used to inject the memo widget and TOC generator into Substack’s profile / post / editor pages.
https://api.anthropic.com/*https://api.openai.com/*https://generativelanguage.googleapis.com/*- Used by the SEO Suggest feature to call whichever AI provider the user has selected (only when an API key is configured).
The Extension does not access any other website.
Uninstall and Data Deletion
When you uninstall the Extension, the data stored in chrome.storage.sync is automatically removed. To create an explicit backup beforehand, use the sidepanel → Settings → Data → Export feature.

This policy may be updated without prior notice. Significant changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date above.
